Your Property

Business Owner Package - Property - Mechanical Breakdown -
Business Interruption - Crime - Cyber Risk

The Business Owners Package made available exclusively to CH&LA members from ARM Multi Insurance Services is designed for the hospitality industry and covers a majority of the exposures you may face as a business owner, including general liability, product liability, loss of income or physical damage to your property. Here is a summary of the standard and optional coverages available to you,

  • Property insurance - Covers the costs to repair damaged buildings when an unexpected event such as a fire or windstorm occurs. Covers buildings and attachments (fence, porch, garage), as well as business personal property (equipment and inventory).
  • Liability insurance - Covers lawsuits made against you by guests or visitors suffering an accident on your property, such as when someone slips and falls.
  • Loss of income and extra expense coverage - After an unexpected event, repairs to your property may cause you to cancel reservations and keep guests away for an extended period. You'll need insurance that covers lost income during this time. Business Interruption insurance covers lost income, ongoing extra expenses, like contracted utilities, employee benefits and payroll, and additional lost revenue during the time after re-opening to rebuild your reputation and popularity with travelers.
  • Equipment Breakdown - Compensates you for lost income if a breakdown forces the property to close temporarily. Covers cost to repair equipment such as stoves, ovens, hot water heaters and boilers, refrigeration and freezer systems, heating or cooling (HVAC) systems.
  • Crime insurance - Covers the loss of money or securities resulting from burglaries or robberies or embezzlement and damage due to vandalism.
  • Cyber coverage - Pays for common costs from damage after the loss of employee or customer confidential data information and crimes by hackers. Hotels and motels rely heavily on credit cards to hold reservations, establish identity of guests at check-in, and to secure final payment for a stay - with every credit card transaction, your property is at risk from cyber crimes via your credit card keypads or POS systems. The optional cyber coverage endorsement can pay for out-of-pocket costs, like credit monitoring and notification costs for those affected, as well as the public relations expense to repair your property's reputation with travelers. Note that most general liability coverage will have an exclusion for cyber crime.
